This product grows out of the student research, interviews, and pilot safety audit for Honors 82, “Community Development from the Ground Up.” This is a course taught by Dr. Jacqueline Leavitt; Revel Sims was the teaching assistant; and Nina Flores, a doctoral candidate, was a guest lecturer whose research concerns gender and safety.

Nina M. Flores is a doctoral candidate in urban planning at UCLA. Her research focuses on gender and safety, and her writing
about sexual assault prevention and response on colleges campuses is featured in popular media outlets.
